Primal Rage is the Jaguar CD conversion of the arcade fighting game. Choose from seven creatures, including dinosaurs and other prehistoric beasts, and fight against the computer or a friend. Each character has its own special attacks that can be used during battle. In addition to the standard fights, there are also a couple of extra two-player modes (tug of war and an endurance mode). Unfortunately, the loading time between fights is excessive.

The graphics look good overall, but they're not as impressive as some other 2D Jaguar games. The music and sound effects are also decent, but unspectacular. The control is pretty good, but many of the moves require awkward button combinations. And you'll definitely want a six-button ProController for this game; I don't recommend playing without one. Primal Rage is a good all-around fighting game, but Ultra Vortek is still the best option for fighting on the Jaguar.
