Evolution: Dino Dudes is a puzzle game that at first resembles Lemmings. But Dino Dudes is no Lemmings clone. In Dino Dudes, you control the Dino Dudes themselves, unlike Lemmings where you simply assign them abilities. In Dino Dudes, you must "discover" new inventions, and use them to help you reach your goal. The inventions include spears, torches, rope, and of course the wheel. The object of most levels is just to reach the goal, although in some levels you may have to rescue your friend, kill a dinosaur, or find the idol. The graphics are colorful and look good, but they don't exactly show off the power of the Jaguar. The sound is very good, especially the music, which fits the game nicely. The control also is very good, with one exception. By default, you must reach down to the pound (#) key to switch to the next dino dude. That is a button you will be using a lot. Luckily, there is a second controller configuration available that lets you switch with the C button. Dino Dudes is a good puzzle game with lots of levels (80) that make it worth owning.
